The problem with replacement parts
Manufacturers discontinue parts. Spare parts become impossible to find. A single small plastic clip fails and renders a much more expensive piece of equipment unusable. We see this constantly — and it's exactly what we're set up to solve.
If you have an STL file of the part you need, we can print it immediately using our instant quote tool. If you don't have a file but can send photos and measurements, get in touch and we'll see what we can do.
What kinds of parts do we print?
We've printed replacements for a wide range of applications:
- Appliance parts — Clips, brackets, door catches, drawer runners, handle mounts
- Automotive components — Trim clips, cable management, bracket mounts, interior fittings
- Garden and outdoor equipment — Handles, caps, connectors, cable tidies
- Electronics enclosures — Replacement lids, mounting brackets, panel clips
- Industrial and workshop equipment — Jig components, tool holders, spacers
- Furniture and fixtures — Shelf brackets, hooks, connector plates
Why PETG for replacement parts?
Many replacement parts need to function in demanding conditions — heat, mechanical stress, moisture, UV exposure. We use PETG exclusively because it handles these conditions far better than PLA. With heat resistance to around 80°C, good impact resistance and dimensional stability in damp environments, PETG is the right material for parts that have to work rather than just look good.
Don't have a file?
If your part is broken or missing and you don't have a 3D model, you still have options:
- Find an STL online — Sites like Printables, Thingiverse and GrabCAD have thousands of freely available models. Search for your appliance or equipment make and model.
- Send us photos and measurements — We may be able to create a model for you. This typically involves a small design fee on top of the print cost. Get in touch to discuss.
- Measure the broken part — Read our guide: How to measure a broken replacement part.
Dimensional accuracy
FDM 3D printing with our Bambu Lab machines typically holds tolerances of ±0.2 mm for most features. For parts that need to mate with other components, test tolerance, or fit into precise spaces, we recommend printing a single test part first before committing to a batch. We'll always be upfront about what FDM can and can't achieve for your specific part.
